Björk Digital showcases the fruits of embracing collaboration and creative technologies

Famous foremost for her music, the stripped-down and intimate exhibition _Björk Digital_ showcases the eponymous Icelandic artist’s latest digital output, working across virtual reality, audiovisual installation and interactive touchscreen instrumentation. Acting as a creative director embracing collaboration and technology as a means of innovation, Björk augments her organic musicology on what she calls “the universal, 10,000 year old theme — probably older” of heartbreak.

Av Isaacs: Shaping the Scene on at the AGO until Oct 2nd

How Av Isaacs Shaped Toronto’s Art Scene
By Michael Kaminer

"Born in Winnipeg to Polish immigrants, Isaacovitch moved to Toronto in 1941, relabeled himself Av Isaacs, and became of Canada’s most fearless, prescient, and adventurous gallerists – almost single-handedly forging Toronto’s contemporary art scene.
“We don’t usually do shows honoring dealers,” said Andrew Hunter, the museum’s Fredrik S. Eaton Curator of Canadian Art and the organizer of “Av Isaacs: Shaping the Scene,” on through October 2 in Toronto. “But Av was a pretty unique figure. Many artists he championed or discovered went on to become transformative figures.” Esteemed Canadian artists like William Kurelek, Jessie Oonark, Christiane Pflug, and Michael Snow all got their start as Isaacs clients."

INDEFINITE VASES By Studio E.O

The project is an exploration of the relationship between geometric and organic forms – transparent and opaque. Indefinite melting materia interacts with definite angular forms and gravity determines the relationship in between.
Indefinite Vases are sculptures or containers. Functional or decorative. The contrast between the cut stone and the form of the hand blown glass emphasizes the relation between space and object, an interplay between a fragile material and its solid counterpart.
Release date: 2016
Materials: Portoro Marble, Amarillo Macael Marble, Pink Onyx, Azul Bahia Granite, Rosa Norvegia Marble & Hand blown glass.
